Andy Dick admits he smoked crack cocaine ahead of apparent overdose

Andy Dick recently revealed that he smoked crack cocaine with a stranger he encountered on the streets of Los Angeles, which led to what seemed like an overdose.

The 59-year-old comedian shared this during an interview with TMZ from his Los Angeles residence on Wednesday, flanked by two friends. When questioned about his well-being, Dick responded with a hint of sarcasm, stating, “Doesn’t it look like I’m 100 percent fine? Actually, 110 percent.”

According to Dick, he met a man on the sidewalk who appeared to be struggling with depression. The man offered him crack cocaine, and Dick admitted he accepted, saying he occasionally indulges. “I came across a guy about my age on the sidewalk. He looked down, had kids, and was clearly troubled,” Dick explained. “Then he brought out — sorry to say, crack — and I thought, maybe that’s what I need right now.”

Dick said he met a man on the sidewalk who was depressed, and the man offered him crack cocaine. He said he took it because he doesn’t “mind doing a little crack every now and then.”

“There was a guy that was my age on the sidewalk and I felt for him, he had kids and he was depressed and he was on the sidewalk,” Dick said. “And then he whipped out — sorry, but crack — and I’m like, you know what? I might need a little bit of that.”

One of his friends said that he told Dick to think of his two grandkids while he was in distress, and that Dick squeezed his hand in response.

Dick was seen slumped over on the cement stairs of a building in Hollywood on Tuesday in a video obtained by TMZ.

In the alarming video, the actor was seen lying flat on the concrete as someone stood over him, and several of his friends ran over to him and attempted to revive him.

One of the “NewsRadio” alum’s friends reportedly screamed at Dick to “wake up” as others called an ambulance.

A bystander shouted for someone nearby to grab Narcan, a life-saving medication that quickly reverses opioid overdoses, and Dick was administered the shot.

A rep for the Los Angeles Fire Department told the outlet that they responded to the location for an overdose involving a 59-year-old male, who was not transported to the hospital.

Page Six has reached out to Dick’s rep and the LAPD for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The former “Andy Dick Show” star has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse.
