The horrifying moment two masked men broke into a woman’s bedroom before stealing a wallet and Christmas presents during a home invasion in Melbourne’s north has been caught on camera.

In a startling incident early on December 5, two men reportedly forced their way into a front bedroom of a residence on Dalton Road in Lalor at around 3 a.m.

The intruders allegedly threatened a woman, who was asleep in her bed, with a knife. They proceeded to steal a bag containing her wallet and took gifts from beneath a Christmas tree located elsewhere in the home.

According to police, the suspects also vandalized the woman’s car by smashing its window and slashing the tires before making their escape.

Fortunately, the woman did not suffer any physical injuries during this ordeal.

Investigators are considering the possibility that this was a targeted break-in.

Police have shared CCTV footage of the home invasion, including vision of the two men they believe can assist with the investigation.

The offenders are described as being aged in their 20s and wearing hooded jumpers, trackpants, balaclavas and carrying backpacks.
