Brooklyn stabbing leaves 1 dead, another clinging to life -- and the attacker is still at large: cops

A tragic incident unfolded in Brooklyn on Thursday night, leaving a 49-year-old man dead and a woman critically injured after a brutal stabbing attack, according to police reports.

The victims, identified as Juan Manuel Galicia and a 49-year-old woman whose identity has not been released, were discovered with multiple stab wounds throughout their bodies. The violent scene was uncovered at approximately 7:30 p.m. inside a residence located at 1277 East 69th Street in the Bergen Beach neighborhood, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed.

Emergency responders swiftly transported both individuals to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. Tragically, despite medical efforts, Galicia succumbed to his injuries. The woman remains hospitalized in a critical condition, fighting for her life.

Authorities have yet to reveal any details regarding the connection between the two victims, leaving many questions unanswered as the investigation continues.

Police have not disclosed the relationship between the victims.

No arrests have been made, and the unhinged attacker remains at large.

Police are searching for a roughly 5’6” male suspect who was last seen wearing blue pants and a white hooded sweatshirt.

The investigation is ongoing.
