Father's call to judge on day his wife and her children were shot dead

A heartbroken father made a furious phone call to the judge managing his daughter’s divorce on the day his daughter and her two children were tragically discovered dead from gunshot wounds.

Randy Powell reached out in distress to District Judge Shannon Blatt after the bodies of his daughter, Charity, aged 40, along with her six-year-old twins, were found inside their expansive residence in Bonanza, located near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border, on December 3.

In a letter written on December 11, Judge Blatt recounted that Powell called her, holding her directly responsible for the tragic deaths, as reported by ABC 4029.

Powell allegedly informed a court clerk that Judge Blatt “might as well have pulled the trigger herself,” prompting the judge to file a police report about the incident, according to the news outlet.

This intense call to the court occurred just one day after what was supposed to be the final divorce hearing between Charity and her estranged husband, Dr. Randall Beallis, 56. The final divorce decree had not been finalized at the time of Charity’s death.

The day after her passing, attorneys for her husband filed a motion arguing the divorce should be dismissed, Blatt instead decided to pause the case until December.

That same day attorneys representing Charity’s eldest son John Randall Powell, 24, sought to have the divorce finalized and asked the court to appoint him administrator of his mother’s estate.

He told AZFamily: ‘My legal team has began to help me fight for my mother’s justice and this divorce case and stuff.

‘That’s our top priority right now is to be able to put my mother to rest like she deserves, instead of letting someone else get her body and do whatever they want with it. That’s our main goal right now.

‘She was a good Christian woman that loved her children and loved her family and friends more than anything.

‘She always put God first, and I’m grateful for that because I know where she is now: in heaven.’

No suspects have been publicly named and nobody has been charged, with Powell adding that he was ‘fearful’ for his life.

His late mother and her estranged husband sought a divorce just weeks after Randall was convicted for battery after strangling her in front of their two children.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office has declined to say whether Randall is a suspect in the murders and no arrests have been made. He denies any wrongdoing and has been cooperating with the investigation.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier this week that Randall’s previous wife, Shawna – a licensed practical nurse – also died by gunshot in 2012 at the age of 34.

She was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, a death officials ruled a suicide.

Loved ones insist the scene never made sense and are urging authorities to reopen the case, saying they suspected Randall’s involvement for years and that he had been abusing her as well.

One relative, who asked not to be named for her own safety, said: ‘Shawna had too much to live for; she was like Charity. But because he was ‘Doctor’ Beallis, they didn’t question him.’

Charity had taken out a restraining order against Randall after he attacked her in February.

She filed for divorce the following month and argued she should have sole custody of the twins due to the nature of the restraining order.

Her family said that even with protective orders in place, Charity felt she was still in danger.

She and the twins were discovered inside the house on December 3 after relatives requested a welfare check when they couldn’t reach her. Police later confirmed all three had died from gunshot wounds.

Randy and John also told the Daily Mail that they fear Randall is somehow responsible for the latest tragedy.

‘[This is] worse than any nightmare I’ve ever had, and I keep hoping somebody will wake me up and say it’s not true,’ Randy said.

He claimed that his daughter endured a decade of terror in the marriage.

‘He beat her like you’ve never seen a woman beaten before. Two black eyes, marks from head to toe, beaten senseless,’ Powell said.

‘The only way she could survive was to do what he said. She had to live by his rules or die.’

He said that even after the divorce proceedings began, Randall stalked her, hacked into her devices and security systems and hired private investigators to track her movements.

John told the Mail: ‘I lived with this man [Randall] for three to four years, and he’s very controlling, very abusive, mentally and physically,’ he told the Mail.

‘I know she was scared to death for her safety and the babies,’ he said. ‘That something’s going to happen, and she did everything she could, but nobody listens.

‘My mother was a very loving and kind person that would do anything to help anybody,’ he added.

‘Those babies were precious and very smart, and she would have done anything in her power to protect them.’

Randall’s attorney, Michael Pierce, told the Daily Mail his client vehemently denies any allegations of wrong doing.
