Chicago Burger King employee stabbed while telling customer to leave restaurant on West Irving Park Road, sources say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A confrontation at a Burger King on Chicago’s Northwest Side turned violent Friday when an employee was stabbed after requesting a disruptive customer to leave, as reported by sources to ABC7.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the 6400 block of West Irving Park Road, according to Chicago police.

Police detailed that a 24-year-old man was attempting to calm a heated situation inside the establishment when he was stabbed multiple times.

The injured employee was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, while authorities managed to detain a suspect, confirmed the Chicago Police Department.

ABC7 sources later revealed that the Burger King worker has been discharged from the hospital following treatment.

“We are saddened to learn of the incident that occurred at the Burger King restaurant located at 6400 W. Irving Park,” a statement from a Burger King spokesperson read. “The Franchisee of this location is cooperating with local law enforcement in their ongoing investigation, and is actively providing support to all those impacted.”

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
