ABC7 Chicago meteorologists have raised an AccuWeather Alert to prepare the public for the weekend’s expected bone-chilling conditions. This warning comes as the National Weather Service announces a Cold Weather Advisory for numerous counties, including Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, and several others, spanning from 8 p.m. on Saturday until noon on Sunday.

The advisory extends beyond Illinois, affecting Indiana’s Jasper, Lake, and Newton counties. Wisconsin will not be spared either, with Waukesha County under a Cold Weather Advisory from midnight Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to the cold, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for LaSalle and Livingston counties. This advisory will be active from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, signaling the possibility of snowfall and icy conditions that could make travel treacherous.
