PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLS) — Authorities are currently managing an active shooter scenario near Brown University’s facilities on Saturday afternoon, as per notifications issued by the university’s officials.

Subsequent communications confirmed an active shooter situation near the Barus & Holley department.
The first alert mentioned that one individual was in custody, yet advised students to continue taking shelter.

Stay tuned for further safety information.”
