MIAMI, Fla. – In an unforgettable display of perseverance, Lake Mary High School emerged victorious in the FHSAA Class 7A state football championship, stunning Vero Beach with a thrilling 28-27 finish on Saturday night in Miami. The climax of the game came when Lake Mary executed a walk-off touchdown, sealing their championship win.
Initially, the Rams found themselves in a challenging position, trailing 21-3 as they headed into halftime. However, they mounted an impressive second-half comeback, inching closer to Vero Beach’s lead. The game reached its electrifying conclusion on the very last play, as Lake Mary launched a breathtaking Hail Mary pass that tied the score. With the successful extra point, the Rams clinched a one-point victory.
The Florida High School Athletic Association took to social media to highlight the thrilling finish, exclaiming: “A HAIL MARY FOR LAKE MARY!!! A walk-off TD and they win it 28-27!!! They are the Class 7A Football State Champions!!!”
