A tragic scene unfolded in the upscale Brentwood area of Los Angeles, where two individuals were found dead in a mansion owned by renowned filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has launched an investigation, treating the incident as a possible murder case.

According to NBCLA, law enforcement sources revealed that the deceased are a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, discovered inside the residence situated in a neighborhood favored by celebrities.

The LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide division is currently handling the investigation, and a significant police presence was noted at the location on Sunday evening. Authorities have informed ABC7 that the circumstances of the deaths are being examined as a homicide.

The identities of the deceased have not been officially confirmed. However, it is noteworthy that Reiner is 78 years old, and his wife, Michele Singer, is 68, matching the ages of the individuals found.

Reiner, celebrated for directing the classic film “When Harry Met Sally,” resides in the mansion with his wife. Property records confirm their ownership of the home, as reported by NBCLA.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Reiner for comment.

According to the news channels, paramedics with the LAFD had received a call for the mansion, which was located on Chadbourne Avenue, at 3:38 in the afternoon.

Just minutes after arriving, LAFD members on the scene reportedly called LAPD officers to the scene in an ‘ambulance death investigation.’

‘Senior leadership’ of the LAPD is now said to be on the scene of the apparent murders.

In September, Reiner released Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the sequel to his iconic 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, which he co-wrote, directed and appeared in.

Reiner first emerged as an actor best known for his role as Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic on All In The Family.

Reiner won two Emmy Awards and was nominated for five Golden Globes during his stint on the series from 1971 to 1978.

Reiner helped reinvent his career in the 1980s with his forward-looking comedy This Is Spinal Tap, which would go on to inspire countless mockumentaries.

He became one of Hollywood’s most in-demand directors for the next two decades thanks to classics and box office hits including Stand By Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), Misery (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), The American President (1995) and The Bucket List (2007).

His 1987 film When Harry Met Sally is widely considered one of the greatest romantic comedies ever made.

It was on the set of that film that Reiner met his future wife, the photographer Michele Singer. The two were married in 1989 and went on to welcome three children: Jake, Nick and Romy.

This is a developing story…
