Man to be deported after pleading guilty to false imprisonment of 12-year-old

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — After admitting guilt to false imprisonment in Glynn County Superior Court on Thursday, a man faces deportation and has been barred from several counties in the area.

Victor Hernandez was accused of attempting to unlawfully restrain a 12-year-old girl with the aim of inappropriate contact on April 16, 2025, as stated by a Brunswick District Attorney spokesperson. Initially, he faced charges of child molestation and false imprisonment, according to court records.

Under a plea deal, Hernandez confessed to false imprisonment, resulting in a sentence of five years probation and a $1,000 fine. Additionally, as reported by the Brunswick District Attorney’s office, he is prohibited from entering the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Glynn, Camden, Appling, Jeff Davis, and Wayne Counties.

Hernandez is also slated for deportation due to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer.

The District Attorney’s Office expressed gratitude towards the Brunswick Police Department, with special thanks to Detective Elizabeth Holt for her dedicated efforts in the case.
