Madonna and Guy Ritchie reunite for first time in nearly 20 years after divorce

In a rare public reunion, Madonna and her former husband Guy Ritchie came together for the first time in nearly two decades since their split, to show their support for their son Rocco’s art exhibition.

The pair were seen posing with Rocco, 25, on December 12th, in front of his artwork at the “Talk is Cheap” exhibition held in London.

Rocco shared the heartfelt moment on Instagram the following Monday, expressing gratitude to his parents for uniting to celebrate his achievements.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie reunited for the first time in nearly 20 years after their divorce.

“I understand why some might judge me, and I hold no ill will against them. Nonetheless, I am proud of my identity and even more proud to have both my parents together, supporting me,” he expressed emotionally.

He concluded by emphasizing his art’s voice, stating, “The work should speak for itself, which is the essence behind naming the show ‘Talk Is Cheap.’”

Madonna, 67, and Ritchie, 57, were married from 2000 to 2008 and welcomed Rocco in 2000. They also began the process to adopt son David Banda in 2006, which was finalized in May 2008.

The musician already was mom to daughter Lourdes, whom she shares with ex Carlos Leon.

But by October 2008, the former couple announced their split, amid rumors that Madonna wanted to adopt another baby and that the two resented each other’s career commitments.

A nasty custody war between the singer and the film director sparked in December 2015 when Rocco refused to travel back from London to New York to spend the holidays with Madonna.

The “Material Girl” songstress brought the issue to court and a judge forced the teen to spend the holidays with the Grammy winner against his wishes.

In 2016, Rocco — who was 15 years old at the time — sought to move to the UK to live with his father.

In September 2016, the exes settled the case, and Rocco was approved to live abroad with Ritchie.

Back in September, Madonna revealed she contemplated suicide during the “painful” custody battle with the British producer.

“There were moments in my life [where] I wanted to cut my arms off,” she confessed to Jay Shetty during his “On Purpose” podcast.

“I actually contemplated suicide. That probably sounds really weird coming from me because I’m not emo … but I was like, ‘I can’t take this pain anymore.’”

Madonna clarified that she was “not in the blame game,” though she “used to be that way” by attempting to “seek revenge” on those who had wronged her.

“Even though my marriage didn’t work out … someone trying to take my child away from me, it was like, ‘They might as well just kill me,’” she explained. “That’s what I was thinking.”
