Disturbing new footage has surfaced today, shedding light on the moments leading up to a tragic incident at Bondi. The video captures a heroic but fatal confrontation between two bystanders and one of the alleged shooters before a devastating attack on the Hanukkah by the Sea event, which resulted in the deaths of 15 people and left dozens more injured.

The two brave individuals, whose identities remain undisclosed, lost their lives during a struggle with the shooter, identified as 50-year-old Sajid Akram, last Sunday evening. Their attempt to thwart the attack ended tragically as they were fatally shot while trying to subdue the assailant.

Dashcam footage, which later appeared on Chinese social media platforms, reveals the tense moments on Campbell Parade at Bondi. The video shows a man and a woman confronting the attacker just before the mass shooting unfolded.

In these harrowing images, the man, dressed in a purple shirt, can be seen bravely wrestling the alleged shooter to the ground, managing to disarm him momentarily. Despite their courage, the situation escalated, leading to the tragic events that followed.

He then wields the man’s gun like a bat in an effort to stop the attack.

Later footage, which 9news.com.au has chosen not to publish, shows the man in the purple shirt fatally shot in the confrontation.

A flag believed to represent terrorist group Islamic State can be seen draped across the windscreen of the shooter’s car.

It is believed the pair were among the first victims of the attack.

To date, 15 people have died in the attack, not including the senior Akram, who was shot by police at the scene.

His son, 24-year-old Naveed Akram, remains in a critical condition in hospital under police guard.
