Miles Morales swings into action, capturing hearts with his adventures in the animated “Spider-Verse” films. While it’s evident from the movies that he’s still a teenager attending school, fans are left pondering one key detail: Miles’ exact age in both installments.

The films themselves don’t provide a clear-cut answer, nor do we see a detailed glimpse of his passport like we did for Peter Parker in the “Spider-Man: Far From Home” trailer. However, there are enough hints to make an educated guess about the young superhero’s age. In a conversation with The Verge, Peter Ramsey, co-director of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” referred to Miles as a “13-year-old kid growing up in Brooklyn.” This gives us a starting point for his age when audiences first meet him.

When we catch up with Miles in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” the narrative unfolds 16 months after the original film. By this time, Miles is a high school sophomore. Typically, sophomores are between 15 and 16 years old. Assuming Miles celebrated his 14th birthday soon after the events of “Into the Spider-Verse,” it would make sense for him to be around 15 years old in the sequel.

Miles Morales is relatively new to the comic book world, having made his debut in 2011 with “Ultimate Fallout” #4. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, he quickly became a beloved figure, starring in his own series, “Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man,” and winning the hearts of Marvel Comics fans.

At the time of his introduction, Bendis clarified Miles’ age in an interview with Newsarama, as reported by World of Black Heroes. Bendis stated, “He’s like 13. He’s a kid. His mother’s Puerto Rican. And for some reason, the borough seems to be an issue for everybody, too: the borough is Brooklyn.”

How old was Miles Morales when he debuted in Marvel Comics?

Miles Morales is a relatively new comic book character, having only debuted in “Ultimate Fallout” #4 in 2011. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Miles received his own starring series, “Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man,” quickly establishing himself as a beloved fan-favorite character in the pages of Marvel Comics.

When Miles was introduced, Bendis provided a definitive answer about how old the character was to Newsarama (via World of Black Heroes). “He’s like 13,” Bendis said in 2011. “He’s a kid. His mother’s Puerto Rican. And for some reason the borough seems to be an issue for everybody, too: the borough is Brooklyn.”

Of course, comic book canon is as flexible as Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four. Characters de-age and age depending on the story and respective timeline. But the fact stands: Miles was 13 years old when he debuted in Marvel Comics, as well as the “Spider-Verse” films. Now, it remains to be seen how old he will be when Miles Morales makes his inevitable debut in an MCU movie.
