Several major Dragon Ball announcements related to anime, games, merchandise and more will be revealed to a global audience for the first time at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri. Although there’s been no official word as to what the anime announcement could be related to, rumors of a new Dragon Ball anime movie have circulated online — to the point that former Dragon Ball editor Kazuhiko Torishima even acknowledged it during a livestream.
Interestingly, Crunchyroll might have revealed the new Dragon Ball announcement with its March 2026 home media release schedule, as the Blu-ray collection of Dragon Ball Daima is being referred to as a “complete season” collection rather than a “complete series” collection. It’s a crucial distinction, as Dragon Ball Daima was only confirmed to be a 20-episode series.
Dragon Ball Daima Season 2 or a Dragon Ball Daima original movie could be on the way. However, earlier rumors have also suggested a new Dragon Ball Super movie or TV series.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco revealed part two of its paid DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which is based on the Dragon Ball Daima anime. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot -Daima- Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 2 will be released in early 2026 on all currently supported gaming platforms and will be based on the Daima anime’s second half.
Numerous Dragon Ball anime series, such as Daima, DBZ and Dragon Ball Super, are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
