Funke Akindele, a prominent figure in Nollywood both as an actress and filmmaker, is currently riding high on the wave of success following her latest cinematic venture, “Behind The Scenes.” This film has not only captured the hearts of audiences but has also broken box office records domestically in Nigeria and on the international stage.

According to initial reports, “Behind The Scenes” managed to rake in an impressive N200 million at Nigerian cinemas, while also earning £42,000 in the UK and Ireland during its debut weekend. These figures underscore the film’s broad appeal and the strength of Akindele’s storytelling.
In a touching gesture, the actress expressed her heartfelt appreciation to her fans, who have steadfastly supported her throughout her career. Her recent visit to fellow Nollywood star Eniola Badmus further exemplifies the camaraderie and support within the industry.
She wrote:
“We’re showing up and not giving up! Big ups, Naija! Huge thank you for coming out to support Behind The Scenes at the cinemas! We broke another record, the biggest opening in 2025!”
Akindele also acknowledged her fans in the UK and Ireland, highlighting that they helped achieve what she called the largest Nollywood opening weekend in those regions.
“A massive shoutout to our UK and Ireland fans, you guys made it the biggest Nollywood opening weekend EVER!” she added.
The actress confirmed that the film is still running in cinemas nationwide and in selected Odeon Cinemas across the UK and Ireland, encouraging audiences to continue supporting the movie.
