Rob Reiner's son Nick gives terrifying warning years before brutal murders: 'I get crazy'

Years before the tragic murder of his parents, Rob Reiner’s son, Nick, delivered a chilling message.

During a 2016 interview on “Access Hollywood,” the then-32-year-old ominously remarked, “I get crazy,” cautioning, “You don’t want to set me off.” His father, hearing this, responded with a hearty laugh.

The unsettling statement emerged after Rob described Nick as “fiery,” prompting the interviewer to comment that Nick didn’t seem to fit that description.

In other parts of the interview, Nick confessed to being “emotional” and not always having a high opinion of himself. He candidly referred to himself as a “nutcase” and acknowledged his own “craziness.”

Nick made the chilling comment after Rob called his child “fiery” and the interviewer observed Nick did not see like a “fiery” individual.

Elsewhere, Nick admitted he was “emotional” and not always “so fond of” himself — also calling himself a “nutcase” who was “crazy.”

At the time, Nick and Rob were promoting “Being Charlie,” a semi-autobiographical movie they collaborated on portraying a teen’s drug addiction battle.

Rob was asked whether he ever worried his son’s own substance abuse struggles would “shine poorly on [is] career.”

The director insisted, “That never crossed my mind. In my opinion, the reason they’re taking — whether it’s drugs or alcohol or gambling, whatever — they’re doing what they’re doing because there’s a pain.

“There’s something inside,” the “All in the Family” alum continued. “They don’t feel good. They don’t feel good about themselves when they’re self-medicating. So [it’s important to] try to understand why they’re self-medicating.”

He noted that Nick is “more important than anything that could happen” to him.

On Sunday, Nick was arrested on murder charges after Rob and wife Michele Reiner were stabbed to death in their Brentwood, Calif., home.

The night before the couple were slain, Nick attended Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party with his parents — and allegedly was “freaking … out” guests by “acting crazy” and “asking people if they were famous.”

NBC News reported a specific interaction with Bill Hader sent Nick “storming off.”

His sister Romy was the one to find her father’s body, with the New York Times claiming on Wednesday that she fled from the home before realizing her mother was also dead.

Michele and Rob were also the parents of son Jake, with the Emmy winner welcoming daughter Tracy during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.

Tributes have continued to pour in from fellow A-listers, with Billy Crystal releasing a touching statement Tuesday.

The “When Harry Met Sally” star, 77, called his late pal “a passionate, brave citizen.”

Crystal, who raced to his friends’ house over the weekend and saw their bodies, concluded, “There is a line from one of Rob’s favorite films, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ ‘Each man’s life touches so many other lives, and when he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?’ You have no idea.”
