MTG grieves Rob Reiner and swipes Trump's 'classless' slurs

Marjorie Taylor Greene took a strong stance against Donald Trump, criticizing him for his ‘tasteless’ remarks concerning the tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele.

The outspoken politician from Georgia, who has recently clashed with the former president, expressed to CNN that Trump’s critique of the Hollywood icon was ‘entirely unworthy of a U.S. president’s dignity.’

The couple was found dead in their Los Angeles residence, a discovery made by their shocked daughter on Sunday.

Authorities have charged their son, Nick Reiner, with the murder of his parents.

Following the shocking incident, Trump faced backlash after suggesting on Truth Social that the couple’s demise was linked to Reiner’s ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’

He wrote that Reiner, a ‘once very talented movie director and comedy star,’ passed away, ‘reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease’ known as TDS – or Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The term is used by conservatives to describe disdain for the Republican President.

Trump’s post continued: ‘He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness.’

After Trump doubled down on the remarks in the White House and said he thought the slain director was ‘bad for our country’, Greene slated the president in an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday.

‘I thought that statement was absolutely, completely below the office of the president of the United States,’ Greene said.

‘Classless. And it was just wrong. That it’s a tragic murder. It’s a family ripped apart. And from my understanding what I’ve seen on the news, it was drug abuse and mental illness.

‘And many families across America deal with family members that are drug addicts or have mental health issues. And I think the president should’ve responded with compassion and talked about those issues.

‘He didn’t have to make it about politics. And and I think that was– it was really below what we expect our president to talk like.’

The remarks from Greene mark the latest attack launched by the former Trump ally at the president, following their public split over the White House’s handling of the ‘Epstein Files.’

The Georgia congresswoman, who is resigning from Congress in January, announced her engagement to White House reporter Brian Glenn on Monday evening

The 51-year-old Georgia Republican was shown sporting a large engagement ring that she helped design, as Glenn posted a picture of the couple at a restaurant Monday evening, with the caption: ‘She said “yes.”‘

Glenn told the Daily Mail that the proposal happened at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab – the same restaurant where President Donald Trump made his one and only outing to a D.C. restaurant earlier this year that has South Florida roots.

‘I called ahead to make sure I had our usual table in the back that has a curtain,’ he revealed via text message. ‘After the waiter delivered the drinks to our table, I proposed to her via a surprise. And she said yes. We are both overjoyed and have shared the news with our families.’

The waiter, it just so happened, was the same person who served the president during Trump’s visit to the popular seafood restaurant, located two blocks from the White House.

Glenn referenced Greene’s upcoming resigning as he added: ”I’m sweeping her off her feet, getting her out of Washington.’
