Salem Media, the parent company of Townhall Media and RedState, is set to excite conservative audiences with a strategic programming change. Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow are joining forces to host the midday radio slot from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, filling the shoes of The Charlie Kirk Show. This dynamic duo promises a robust blend of conservative commentary, with Marlow, the editor-in-chief at Breitbart, leading the first hour and Jennings taking charge for the subsequent two.
Scott Jennings, known for his sharp and witty critiques of liberal viewpoints on CNN, became part of the Salem Media Radio Network earlier this year, initially hosting a one-hour daily program. He expressed gratitude for the foundation laid by Charlie Kirk and acknowledged the role of Turning Point USA in maintaining the show’s momentum after Kirk’s untimely passing.
Alex Marlow, who currently hosts The Alex Marlow Show Presented by Breitbart News on the Salem Podcast Network, also paid homage to Kirk. He reflected on the influential figures who guided his entry into conservative media, including Andrew Breitbart, Larry Elder, and Dennis Prager.
The Marlow-Jennings partnership is taking over a crucial time slot once occupied by the legendary Rush Limbaugh. Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Content at Salem Media, emphasized the significance of this transition: “For decades, Salem has earned the trust of conservative listeners, and we are committed to maintaining that trust. Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow each offer unique perspectives, an exceptional talent for audience engagement, and a serious approach to discourse. Together, they will continue Salem’s storied legacy.”
Jennings, who’s gained a huge following due to his hilarious, bare-knuckled takedowns of leftists on CNN, joined the Salem Media Radio Network earlier this year with a one-hour daily show. He paid tribute to the legacy left by Charlie Kirk and thanked the Turning Point USA team for shepherding the radio show in the difficult days following Kirk’s assassination.
“First, to my friend Andrew Kolvet and the Turning Point USA team, thank you for your stewardship of Charlie’s radio legacy over these last several months. It has been nothing short of brilliant,” said Scott Jennings. “These are some of the most important hours in talk radio, shaped by voices who didn’t just fill time, but moved the national conversation. I’m grateful to Salem for the trust they’ve placed in me to step into that legacy. Expanding the show gives us the space and time to deliver serious analysis, honest debate, and thoughtful conversations for the audience. Looking forward to more great guests and more common sense for the American people!”
Marlow is the host of The Alex Marlow Show Presented by Breitbart News, which is currently part of the Salem Podcast Network. He, too, spoke kindly of Kirk and noted some of the conservative media giants that helped him launch into the space, including Andrew Breitbart, Larry Elder, and Dennis Prager.
“Even before I became the first employee of Breitbart News and a mentee of web pioneer Andrew Breitbart, I was a talk radio junkie. It has been a constant part of my media diet since I was a teenager and has informed my news judgement as I lead Breitbart’s virtual newsroom,” said Alex Marlow. “Many of the hosts that have captured my attention and imagination over the decades are or were on the Salem dial. Larry Elder was my first talk radio love, years went by where I didn’t miss a single moment of the Dennis Prager Show, and it was a rare pleasure to be a weekly guest on my friend Charlie Kirk’s show during the last year of his life. I have deep respect for the Salem audience as well as my on-air colleagues both as people and as broadcasters. I can’t wait to get started.”
The Marlow-Jennings duo will be taking over the important 12-3 p.m. radio time slot that was made legendary by the late Rush Limbaugh. Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Content for Salem Media, commented on the importance of the moment, saying, “Salem has earned the trust of conservative audiences for decades, and we don’t take that lightly. Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow each bring a distinct voice, a rare ability to engage audiences, and real seriousness to the conversation. Together, they will carry the Salem legacy forward.”
