The City of Decatur is actively seeking input from its residents regarding proposed enhancements to the Oakwood Business District. This initiative aims to rejuvenate the area, which is located near Millikin University and spans along Oakland Avenue between West Main and West Wood Streets.

Decatur’s Economic Development team is spearheading this effort, emphasizing the importance of community feedback to identify the most beneficial improvements and additions for the district. In recent years, the area, once bustling and cherished, has experienced a decline in activity and faced several challenges. This has prompted city officials to collaborate with local developers, business owners, and Millikin University to breathe new life into the district.
