Authorities in New York City are actively searching for a suspect involved in a disturbing incident where a Jewish man was stabbed in the chest. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, was reportedly accompanied by “anti-Jewish” remarks, according to police.

The New York Police Department has shared images and a brief video of the suspect, who has yet to be identified. The victim, a 35-year-old man, encountered the suspect in what appears to have been a random street interaction that escalated into a dispute. Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was treated at a nearby hospital.

In an official statement provided to Fox News Digital, the police detailed the incident: “At approximately 4:10 P.M., in the vicinity of Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Place, within the 77th Precinct, a 35-year-old male victim was approached by an unidentified individual. The individual made anti-Jewish statements and subsequently stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife.”

After the attack, the suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on foot, heading towards Sterling Place and Albany Avenue, as per the authorities’ report.

The incident is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, police say.

Footage of the incident circulating on social media shows the two men squaring off in a minutes-long dispute. The would-be victim followed the suspect after their confrontation initially broke off, at which point the suspect turned and stabbed at the victim.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams condemned the stabbing in a statement.

“Evil, hateful, antisemitic violence must come to an end. We cannot let this hate persist in our city, and we will never back down. We are praying for this man and his family, and the NYPD Hate Crimes Division is investigating this incident as we speak.”
