Fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives have witnessed a turbulent journey for cast member Demi Engemann. In the latest season, she returned from her appearance on Vanderpump Villa amid swirling allegations of an affair with Marciano Brunette.
As rumors continued to spread, Demi shifted her narrative, alleging that her interactions with Marciano were not flirtatious but rather instances of sexual assault. This explosive claim sent shockwaves through the community, prompting Marciano to vehemently deny the allegations and announce his intention to file a defamation lawsuit against Demi.
Amidst the controversy, reality TV veteran Lisa Vanderpump has stepped into the fray. After careful deliberation, she revealed her decision to support Marciano’s account over Demi’s.
Now, reality TV icon Lisa Vanderpump has weighed in on the situation. She shared with viewers that, after much consideration, she’s chosen to back Mariano’s side of the story over Demi’s.
Lisa Believes Marciano After Reviewing The Evidence
Lisa made it clear that she wasn’t going to blanketly support Marciano until she had as full of a picture as possible. She shared with US Weekly that she had taken the time to look through video footage of Marciano and Demi’s time together on Vanderpump Villa to see for herself what had really happened.
After making her own assessment, Lisa felt comfortable saying that she trusted Marciano’s account of the situation:
I’m only very supportive of him because I reviewed all the footage, looked at everything with a fine tooth comb, and saw nothing to substantiate the allegations against him.
“I always want to see the evidence and have the proof they’re not guilty before I put my support in them,” she added, talking about her general policy regarding matters of this nature.
Outside of Lisa’s own opinion, she pointed out that even Demi’s fellow Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast members seemed to be on Marciano’s side. Throughout Season 3 of the series, some of the other MomTok members can be seen reviewing the texts between Demi and Marciano, noting that the flirtatiousness of their texts was strange if Marciano had really sexually assaulted Demi.
Some Of The SLOMW Cast Members Also Support Marciano
In the same conversation with the outlet, Lisa noted she was grateful that others were coming around to sharing her opinion on the situation:
You know, when you’ve got cameras everywhere, and you’ve got access to all of that as a producer on the show. So it’s a shame, but I believe that all her friends on her show are somehow taking the same point of view as me.
Indeed, the drama in MomTok about this continues—Demi recently posted on her Instagram that she was saddened that women in her life didn’t support her story, seemingly alluding to the rest of her cast members. By the end of Season 3, the women resolved that they would try to put the tension behind them, holding a meeting where they could each voice their problems and take accountability for any hurt they had caused.
“Given the fact that I was a victim in this situation, that’s how I’ve decided to handle it,” Demi said. “There’s no right or wrong way to handle this type of situation but I am doing the best I can. Luckily I have the support of my husband and the truth on my side,” she added. All episodes of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are available to stream on Hulu now.
