Police have arrested and charged a man after he allegedly made antisemitic threats during a flight from Bali to Sydney.
The 19-year-old from Sydney has been accused of making antisemitic threats and gesturing in a way that indicated violence towards another person, who he knew was part of the Jewish community.
Australian Federal Police officers arrested the man after he landed at Sydney International Airport on Wednesday and charged him with threatening force or violence against members of groups.

A man has been denied bail and will make his next court appearance at the NSW Local Bail Division Court on Thursday.

Law enforcement has been on alert for antisemitic incidents in the aftermath of Sunday’s terror attack at a Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach.

During the incident, two police officers were severely injured. Among them was a probationary constable who had only been on the force for four months.

NSW Police on Tuesday arrested a man and charged him for allegedly displaying a Nazi symbol on a boat in the Lake Macquarie area, north of Sydney.
Sydney and Melbourne have experienced a spate of antisemitic attacks in recent years, with synagogues and other Jewish community spaces being sprayed with offensive graffiti or firebombed.
Iran was found by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation to have orchestrated at least two of the attacks, on a Jewish kosher deli in Bondi and the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne.
