In a developing story out of New England, investigators have reportedly uncovered evidence that may connect two tragic shooting incidents at prominent universities in the region. This discovery was shared by local news sources, sparking interest and concern among communities.

Earlier this week, Ted Docks, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston office, addressed the media. He indicated that while investigators were exchanging intelligence about the incidents, a definitive link had not yet been established. This cautious communication hinted at the complexity of the cases under scrutiny.

However, new developments emerged on Thursday, as WPRI-TV, a CBS affiliate, reported that senior law enforcement officials have indeed found evidence suggesting a connection between the cases. Details surrounding this evidence remain undisclosed, leaving the public to speculate on the nature of the link.

The incidents in question involve victims Ella Cook and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov from Brown University, and MIT professor Nuno Loureiro, who was tragically killed in a separate shooting. Their stories have drawn widespread attention and sympathy.

Adding to the intrigue, there have been unverified reports from both Providence, Rhode Island, and Brookline, Massachusetts, noting the presence of Nissan Sentras at the crime scenes. Interestingly, these vehicles were reportedly seen with license plates from different states, suggesting a potentially broader scope of investigation.

A masked gunman barged into a lecture hall at Brown University in Providence around 4 p.m. Saturday and killed two students, injuring nine more. Authorities said they recovered 9mm bullet casings from the scene.

He was last seen Saturday a few minutes later on surveillance video in the neighborhood east of Brown’s campus.

Then around 8:30 p.m. Monday, Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Nuno F. Gomes Loureiro, 47, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in his apartment in Brookline, a short drive from campus. He was pronounced dead at a hospital the following morning.

Authorities have not described what kind of weapon was used to kill Loureiro.

The shooting left two students dead, identified as Ella Cook of Alabama and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov of Virginia, and nine injured. Six of the survivors remained hospitalized as of Thursday afternoon. One is in critical but stable condition, the others were stable.
