As reported by WPRI, police are investigating potential connections between the Brown University shooting that took place on Saturday and the fatal shooting of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor on Monday. Professor Nuno Loureiro was discovered in his home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being transported to the hospital urgently, he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting a possible link between the two incidents.
On Thursday morning, Breitbart News referenced a report from the New York Times, indicating that law enforcement officials retrieved shell casings bearing DNA and fingerprints from the scene of the Brown University shooting.
Two people were killed in the shooting and nine others were injured.
