Will Lily Collins and her co-stars make a return trip to Paris, or even Greece, to continue their journey? Is there a Season 6 on the horizon for Emily in Paris? What transpired at the end of Season 5, when might Season 6 premiere, and what can we expect from it?
Here’s a comprehensive look at what lies ahead for Emily in Paris, along with insights from the show’s creator, Darren Star.
Will There Be An Emily in Paris Season 6 on Netflix?
Since its debut in 2020, Emily in Paris has captivated audiences, earning a loyal fanbase of both passionate viewers and those indulging in a guilty pleasure. Although the show had not received an official renewal by the time Season 5 premiered on December 18, 2025, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of a Season 6. It’s typical for streaming platforms and networks to delay renewal announcements until after a season’s release. For example, Season 4’s renewal came just four days after the second part premiered. Should Netflix decide to greenlight another season, Star and the cast are keen to continue. The Season 5 finale certainly leaves the door open for more stories to unfold.
Emily in Paris Season 5 Ending Explained: Season 5 Episode 10, “Veni, Vidi, Venezia” Recap
Emily in Paris Season 5, Episode 10 was an eventful episode that featured an engagement, a big breakup, and an intriguing invitation. Emily and pals headed to Venice so Marcello could debut his own line during Venice Fashion Week. In a twist, his mother was so proud of him that she announced he would be taking over the family business, which was great! Except it also meant he’d be moving back to Italy…
After finding an engagement ring in Marcello’s suitcase, Emily spent the majority of the finale entertaining the idea of marrying Marcello. But after realizing she’d have to uproot her life in Paris and move to Italy with him, she declined his proposal — or should we say what she thought was his proposal. In reality, he was just keeping the ring safe for Nico, who did get engaged to Mindy, despite her still definitely having feelings for Alfie. Marcello and Emily broke up, and she headed back to Paris where Sylvie was waiting with news: To save the company from closing its doors, she brought Princess Jane (Minnie Driver) onto the team for financial support.
After learning that Emily was newly single, Sylvie texted Gabriel, “Just thought you should know. Emily is back in Paris. She and Marcello are no longer together. Do with this information what you wish.” QUEEN. So Gabriel, on his billionaire boat, sends Emily the handwritten post card she asked for and writes, “Emily. As promised… A postcard with a stamp. I’m at sea without you. Meet me in Greece. Yours, Gabriel.”
What Will Emily in Paris Season 6 Be About? Creator Darren Star Weighs In
Clearly, we need to see what the future has in store for Gabriel and Emily! Will Season 6 take us to Greece? Will we get a wedding between Mindy and Nico? Or another big breakup if Mindy chooses Alfie?
“Nicolas was always in Mindy’s mind as this fantasy, who really hurt her, and came back and offered her surprisingly everything. And I think she was really quick to cast Alfie aside as a little bit of a fling when Nico came back in the picture,” Star told Decider. “But I think it’s going to complicate the situation. If and when we hear about a Season 6, I think that their storyline would be a little messy.”
Star also said “it could” when asked if Season 6 could be heading to Greece. “There’s a couple paths things could take. First, we have to get a Season 6, and that’s when we’re going to have the discussions.” That said, Star did share that sending Emily and crew to America is also something he’s thought about.
“I have a couple things in the back of my mind, but I don’t really dive in and think about, and things can change,” Star said. “So I wouldn’t want to like really talk about anything in a concrete way.” Sounds like we’ll have to wait and see, so fingers crossed Season 6 is a go.
Emily in Paris Season 5 is now streaming on Netflix.
