In a significant milestone, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced a rebranding of their nonprofit, the Archewell Foundation, as it marks its fifth anniversary.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed on Friday, December 19, that the organization will now be known as Archewell Philanthropies.

In an impact report released the same day, co-executive directors James Holt and Shauna Nep reflected on the foundation’s journey: “Five years ago, The Archewell Foundation was born from a simple but profound belief: to show up and do good. Today, as we mark our fifth anniversary, that mission remains as vital and urgent as ever — now carried forward through Archewell Philanthropies, a growing platform designed to deepen and expand how we serve communities around the world.”

They added, “What began as a commitment to compassion has evolved into a powerful force for meaningful change, particularly in championing global mental wellness across our communities.”

Charitable efforts have always been a cornerstone of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s endeavors. Their commitment to giving back has been a significant part of their relationship, both during their time as senior members of the British royal family and since their decision to step back in January 2020.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, first set up the Archewell Foundation in 2020 after stepping down as working members of the U.K. royal family. Through the nonprofit, the couple aimed to continue the philanthropic work they undertook as working royals.

Over the years, the Archewell Foundation has supported programs and initiatives spanning digital safety, women’s leadership and education. In 2023, the foundation launched the Parents’ Network to support bereaved parents whose children have been affected by online harm, including on social media.

That same year, Archewell also launched The Welcome Project, a community-building initiative initially devised to support refugee women who had resettled from Afghanistan to the U.S. Since its launch, the Welcome Project has expanded to support refugee women from various countries around the world who have resettled in the U.S. and Canada.

Archewell’s name change marks Meghan’s second rebrand in 2025. In February, the former Suits star renamed her personal lifestyle brand from American Orchard Riviera to As Ever.

All of Prince Harry Meghan Markle-s Projects Since Royal Exit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept themselves busy with a variety of individual and joint projects since their royal exit. The couple made headlines in 2020 when they officially announced their plans to step away from their roles as senior working members of the royal family. That same year, Harry and Meghan created their […]

“The cat’s out of the bag,” Meghan said in an Instagram video ahead of the release of her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan. “In two weeks, my show is coming out, which I’m so excited for. And also my business, which I think there has been a lot of curiosity about.”

“Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood; it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” Meghan explained.

Meghan decided to change the company’s name when “Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business, which was huge. So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.”

“As Ever essentially means ‘as it’s always been,’ and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig [her former lifestyle blog], you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do. And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can, so as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first.”

As Ever launched its first product line in April, including a variety of herbal teas, raspberry jam, wildflower honey and flower sprinkles. The product line sold out in under one hour upon going live.
