Kris Jenner recently opened up about a touching family moment involving her three-year-old grandson, Tatum, which left her taken aback with emotion.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians, the 70-year-old family matriarch spoke about what she called an “extraordinary” bond between Tatum and her late ex-husband, Robert Kardashian Sr., who passed away in 2003.
This poignant conversation took place during a visit to Kylie Jenner’s home, humorously dubbed as “haunted” by the family. While lounging in bed together, Kris, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Scott Disick began sharing stories. The mood shifted to a more serious tone when Khloe recounted a special moment with her youngest son.
“Tatum said, ‘I want to call honey,’” Khloe recalled. When Kylie sought clarification, Khloe explained, “Tatum calls her honey, and nobody ever taught him to say that.” Kris then added a piece of information that left everyone astonished: “That’s what Robert used to call me.”
Kris continued by sharing an eerie yet heartwarming moment that stuck with her. “He called out ‘Honey!’ and then told me a whole story,” she recounted. “He described [Robert] and mentioned that he’s really funny and was crying.”
When Kris asked why, Tatum’s answer was simple, “‘Because he loves you,’ and he points to my face.” Khloe confirmed she was present when the exchange happened.
During her confessional moment, Kris became visibly emotional as she tried to process what it all means.
“You have a 3-year-old telling you about his conversations with his grandfather, who he’s never met. It’s extraordinary,” she said. “And then, he says goodnight to his grandfather sometimes, like he’s right in the room. He can see him, but nobody else can. It’s interesting, right?”
This isn’t the first time the family has noticed similarities. Earlier this year, Khloe shared that Tatum reminds her strongly of her father. “I swear he’s my dad,” she said at the time. “It’s so interesting.”
