The U.S. Coast Guard is currently tracking a sanctioned oil tanker near Venezuela as part of President Donald Trump’s intensified efforts against Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. This is part of a broader blockade aimed at curbing illicit oil shipments.
A U.S. official informed Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson that “the United States Coast Guard is in active pursuit of a sanctioned dark fleet vessel involved in Venezuela’s illegal sanctions evasion.” The official further explained that the vessel is operating under a false flag and is subject to a judicial seizure order.

According to Reuters, another official indicated that while the tanker has not yet been boarded, there are possibilities for interception by flying or sailing near the vessels of interest.
These officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, have not disclosed the vessel’s name or specific location during the pursuit.
