Family and friends of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were seen gathering at Rob’s sister Annie’s residence on Sunday, marking a week since the tragic loss of the couple.
Lucas, Rob’s younger brother, arrived dressed in black pants, a blue button-down shirt, and a black jacket, reflecting the somber occasion.
Attendees were observed bringing boxes, likely containing food, to the meeting at Annie’s Los Angeles home.
The heartbreaking discovery of Rob and Michele, who were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles residence, left many in shock. Rob was 78 years old, and Michele was 70.
Their remains were returned to the family on Friday after undergoing an autopsy conducted by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, as reported by People.
Their official causes of death were revealed to be “multiple sharp force injuries,” according to a Wednesday report from the LACME office, and heir deaths were ruled a homicide.
Sources previously told The Post that Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, found the couple’s bodies with their throats slit and multiple stab wounds on Sunday.
The couple’s son Nick was arrested later that evening in connection with his parents’ deaths and has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Nick, 32, has been locked away in solitary confinement at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles, and remains on suicide watch following his parents’ murders, a police source told People.
Just hours before their deaths, Rob and Michele attended Conan O’Brien’s holiday party on Saturday night. While there, a lifelong family friend told The Post that Rob and Michele got into a big fight with Nick.
“They had had an argument at Conan’s holiday party, and Rob had been telling people that they’re scared for Nick and scared that his mental state was deteriorating,” the insider shared.
Nick was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia prior to the murders of his parents, and the medications he was taking were allegedly making him act “erratic and dangerous,” according to TMZ.
Nick’s arraignment has been set for Jan. 7, 2026. He’s expected to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.
