Bill Clinton spokesman says they don’t need ‘protection,’ asks for release of all Epstein files

A representative for former President Clinton has urged the Department of Justice (DOJ) to disclose any remaining documents pertaining to the former president that are part of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Angel Ureña, who serves as Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, expressed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the DOJ is mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act to release “the full and complete record” that the public expects and deserves.

Last Friday, the DOJ made public an initial batch of documents concerning the convicted sex offender, which included photos of Clinton. However, lawmakers Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who co-sponsored the legislation, have criticized the department for withholding some information and redacting names of certain individuals in the files.

A spokesman for former President Clinton called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release any remaining materials involving the former president in files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Angel Ureña, the deputy chief of staff to Clinton, said Tuesday on X that under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the DOJ is required to “produce the full and complete record the public demands and deserves.”

The DOJ released an initial trove of documents relating to the convicted sex offender, including photos of Clinton, on Friday. But Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), the co-sponsors of the law, have criticized the department for not releasing everything it has on Epstein and redacting the names of individuals within the files.

Ureña echoed the lawmakers, saying that what the DOJ “has released so far, and the manner in which it did so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected.”

“We do not know whom, what or why,” he continued. “But we do know this: We need no such protection.”

Clinton was in several photographs released by the DOJ on Friday. One image shows the former president in a hot tub with an individual whose identity is hidden, while another shows a woman, whose identity is hidden, sitting on his lap.

The former president has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and his alleged sex-trafficking ring. Ureña said on X Friday that Clinton was among those who “knew nothing and cut Epstein off before his crimes came to light.”

CNN reported in August that Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice, was honored at a Clinton Global Initiative event in 2013, years after she was accused of assisting the disgraced financier in his crimes.

Last week, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), meanwhile, pushed for Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to appear for depositions in the committee’s probe of the Epstein case.

The Kentucky Republican, who subpoenaed the two in August, set a Dec. 17 deadline for the Clintons to respond.
