Epic Gamer Grandma, known off-screen as Agnes, a beloved TikTok personality from Scotland, has passed away at the age of 78, as confirmed by her family.
Agnes became a sensation on TikTok after joining the platform in 2019, quickly gathering a fanbase of over 2.4 million followers through her charming and playful videos.
Her followers adored her for her passion for knitting and Minecraft, her mischievous humor, and a distinctive throaty cough that affectionately earned her the nickname “the coughing lady.”
In October, her grandson, Culsans, shared that Agnes had been absent from creating new content due to hospitalization caused by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

This Tuesday, he wrote: ‘it is with an incredible amount of pain that tonight i must announce that agnes, our epic gamer grandma, passed away peacefully at 9:20pm on sunday 21st december 2025, holding the hand of her daughter pauline. she left this world the way she lived in it: surrounded by love.’

Culsans shared that the family were at once ‘completely heartbroken’ and ‘incredibly proud’ of ‘the woman she was long before anyone knew her online.
He hailed Agnes as ‘the mum and grandma who held our family together,’ while also praising her for ‘the way she spent her later years proving that life does not end at a certain age, it only changes shape.’
