Nigerian film stars Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi and Wumi Toriola have finally resolved their longstanding public differences after a seven-year rift.
The reconciliation unfolded on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at a cinema in Ikeja, Lagos. Both actresses were present to promote their respective projects—Toyin for her film, “Oversabi Aunty,” and Wumi for “Behind the Scenes,” a production by Funke Akindele.
A heartwarming video that quickly gained traction on social media captured the touching moment. Wumi affectionately said, “I miss you,” teasingly challenging Toyin to admit the same. Toyin echoed the sentiment, “I miss you too,” as they shared an embrace.
As reported by GistLover, the actresses were once good friends but had a falling out following a series of online spats that left their fans divided.
The conflict reportedly began in 2017 during the shooting of Alakada Reloaded, when Wumi accused Toyin of slapping her in their hotel room and warned her never to do so again. The tension escalated in 2018 when Wumi publicly accused Toyin of faking her engagement.
In 2023, Wumi also addressed rumors about a supposed secret relationship with Toyin’s husband, firmly responding to the claims.
“My attention was drawn to a devilish story that I slept with a colleague’s husband. Not only is it false, but it is also wicked, evil, and aimed to tarnish my reputation.”
