Cristiano Ronaldo brought a touch of holiday spirit to his fans by sharing a heartfelt Christmas message on social media alongside his family.

On Christmas morning, the Portuguese football icon posted a video on Instagram featuring his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, and their five children. The family appeared warm and joyful as they celebrated the special day together.

In the video, Ronaldo and his family made their way across what seemed to be their living room, heading toward their beautifully adorned Christmas tree. The festive scene was set to the classic holiday tune “Last Christmas” by Wham!, adding a nostalgic touch to the moment.

Ronaldo was among several football stars who took to social media to share their festive celebrations with fans, including current and former players from Manchester United.

One of Ronaldo’s former teammates, Casemiro, also shared his Christmas joy with his followers. The Brazilian midfielder posted heartwarming photos of himself and his family in Manchester, all dressed in matching holiday pajamas, capturing the spirit of the season.

Meanwhile Marcus Rashford, spending his first festive period away from his hometown, proved yet again that he’s loving life in Spain with a post on social media. 

The Englishman shared snaps of himself cracking a beaming smile while decorating a Christmas tree on Wednesday with the caption: ‘Christmas Eve vibes.’

Also getting into the Christmas spirit was Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland, who has jetted off to his native Norway for a short getaway.

The 25-year-old posed for a photo with his girlfriend Isabel Johansen ahead of Man City’s clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday. 

He then shared a snap of himself dressed up as Father Christmas with the caption: ‘Here to spread some Christmas Joy! (IYCMI: More Santa vibes on YT).’

Virgil van Dijk seemed to relish the opportunity of having Christmas Day off for the first time

His happiness may in part have been motivated by Reds boss Arne Slot giving his squad the day off for the first time in van Dijk’s Premier League career.

‘We have Christmas Day off which is very nice of the staff,’ van Dijk said after Liverpool’s 2-1 victory against Tottenham last week.

‘It’s a nice change. I’ll be at home on Christmas Eve too and I’m really looking forward to it.

‘The staff always have a particular plan for a game. It works well for everyone. It’s special to be off on Christmas Day. 

‘I don’t think it’s happened in my Premier League career so far. I’ll make the most of being with my family and enjoy it all.’

Elsewhere, Bukayo Saka wasted no time getting into the festive spirit with the Arsenal talisman taking to Instagram as early as Monday to show off how he’s celebrating.

Jude gave fans a glimpse into his Middle Eastern getaway on Wednesday with a slew of snaps posted on social media showing him soaking in the sun, visiting the desert and even riding a camel.
