CHICAGO — On Christmas night, a series of shootings in Chicago resulted in six people being shot, including one fatality, according to police reports.

Authorities confirmed that a man lost his life around 10:11 p.m. on the 7400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. The incident took place in the Park Manor neighborhood.
The victim, in his 30s, was discovered with gunshot wounds to his back and right armpit. He was later pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Hospital.
Later that evening, around 11 p.m., a separate shooting occurred in the 300 block of West Marquette Road. The incident involved a 37-year-old man who was shot during an altercation.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, as reported by the police.
A teenager was shot while walking in the South Chicago neighborhood at about 12:29 a.m. in the 2900 block of E. 91st Street, police said.
A 15-year-old boy was approached by a group, when somebody pulled out a gun and started shooting.
The victim was shot in the right leg; police said he was expected to be OK.
A 17-year-old was shot on the city’s North Side at about 1 a.m. in the 5700-block of N. Rockwell Street, police said.
The teenager was outside when he head shots fired and felt pain. Police said he was shot in the inner left thigh and self-transported to an area hospital; he is expected to be OK.
On the city’s South Side, a 36-year-old man was shot in the abdomen at about 2 a.m. in the 7300-block of S. Stewart Avenue, police said.
Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK. No other information regarding the shooting was available.
At about 3:10 a.m. police said a man was critically injured in a shooting in the 6300-block of S. Dorchester Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood.

A 31-year-old man was walking when a group approached in a silver car. Two suspects got out of the car and began shooting before driving off.
The victim was shot in the back and rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
Nobody is in custody.
