Jeff Bezos Appoints Former ULA CEO Tory Bruno to Propel Blue Origin’s Ambitious Space Agenda

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Tory Bruno is making a significant leap in his career trajectory.

Recently, it was reported by News 6 that Tory Bruno, the former chief executive of United Launch Alliance (ULA), has departed from his position to embark on a fresh venture. It has now been confirmed that he has joined Blue Origin.

Blue Origin, the space exploration company established by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, announced on X.com that Bruno will assume the role of president for the company’s newly established National Security Group.

This new position aligns closely with the expertise Bruno developed at ULA, a company heavily involved in defense-related satellite launches.

During Bruno’s leadership at ULA, the company collaborated with Blue Origin to develop the engine central to ULA’s Vulcan Centaur rocket. Additionally, ULA was selected as the launch provider for Blue Origin’s Project Kuiper, an ambitious satellite internet initiative.

Bruno got a warm welcome on X from Blue Origin’s CEO Dave Limp, who said Bruno brings “unmatched experience.”

Bezos also weighed in.

Blue Origin already has some major government contracts, including a contract of up to $10.2 billion for a lunar lander for a future Artemis program mission, along with a more than $2 billion contract for the National Security Space Launch program.
