In a heartwarming announcement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the joyous news that she and her husband are expecting their second child. This exciting update comes just months after the couple welcomed their first child in July 2024.

Taking to Instagram, Leavitt revealed her growing baby bump in a festive photo by a Christmas tree. “My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother,” she expressed. Her message was imbued with emotion as she shared her gratitude for the blessing of motherhood, describing it as “the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.”

At 28, Leavitt is not only a dedicated public servant but also a proud mother. She took a moment to thank President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their unwavering support during this exciting time in her life.

Concluding her heartfelt announcement, Leavitt expressed her eagerness to embrace the new journey of being a “girl mom,” indicating the couple’s anticipation for the arrival of a daughter. Her announcement has been met with joy and congratulations from many well-wishers.

She ended the announcement by writing that she can’t wait to be a girl mom.

Who is Karoline Leavitt married to?

Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their first child in July 2024.

Riccio is a real estate developer and the two met during Leavitt’s failed 2022 Congressional campaign, she recounted during a February 2025 appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

In a November 2025 interview on Pod Force One with Miranda Devine, she acknowledged that her family initially struggled to accept the 32-year age gap between her and Riccio.

The couple married in January 2025, just days before Trump’s second inauguration.

Leavitt is the youngest in history to hold the White House press secretary position.

She was a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign and transition, and he said she did “a phenomenal job” when he announced after his election that she’d be his White House press secretary.

Trump had four press secretaries during his first administration, Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephanie Grisham and Kayleigh McEnany, and Grisham never held a briefing, while the others were more frequent presences behind the podium.

Previously, the youngest press secretary was Ronald Ziegler, who was 29 when he took the position in 1969 in Richard Nixon’s administration.
