LOS ANGELES — The devastating wildfires that swept through Pacific Palisades in early 2025 not only destroyed homes but also claimed priceless memories, including a cherished possession of actor Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh. The couple’s home was among those lost in the inferno, and with it, Keleigh’s beloved wedding dress seemed to vanish forever.
However, nearly a year after this heartbreaking event, a touching chapter unfolded in their lives. In a heartfelt gesture, Miles Teller, known for his role in “Top Gun: Maverick,” decided to surprise his wife by having her wedding dress recreated. He presented this sentimental gift to her on Christmas, marking a poignant moment in their relationship.
In a TikTok video capturing the surprise, Keleigh can be seen opening a large box to reveal a garment bag. As she unzips it, the realization dawns on her, and she looks up at Miles, who is recording the moment. Her expression of shock quickly turns to joy as she exclaims, “Is this my wedding dress? Oh my God.”
This tender gesture highlights the couple’s resilience and the enduring significance of love and memories, even in the face of loss. It also serves as a reminder of the personal stories intertwined with the broader tragedies of natural disasters.
“Is this my wedding dress? Oh my God,” she said in the video.
She unzipped the bag to reveal a pristine replication of her wedding dress.
The home they shared was left a pile of dust and debris with only the fall shrubbery and a gate surrounding the lot still standing due to the Palisades Fire in January. It’s the most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles’s history, destroying an estimated 6,831 structures across 23,707 acres, according to the city of Malibu. It burned for 24 days, according to Cal Fire.
Keleigh posted photos of the home on Instagram a few days after the fire started of a before and after.
“We will come back stronger than ever,” she wrote at the time. “I wish I grabbed my wedding dress. Wish I did a lot different but it doesn’t matter, stay safe, get out.”
The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in September.
