Unusual incidents involving undocumented immigrants often make headlines, but this recent event in Louisiana might just top them all.
In a twist of fate, a Honduran woman living in the U.S. without legal permission allegedly ran a red light in Slidell, Louisiana, and collided with another vehicle. The irony? The vehicle she struck belonged to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which was in the area conducting Operation Catahoula Crunch.
U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino humorously described the incident as a “blooper for the books.”
It’s certainly a case of unfortunate timing. While there are countless traffic accidents involving undocumented individuals, this one stands out due to the parties involved. Luckily, no injuries were reported. The Slidell Police Department confirmed that the woman was responsible for the crash, citing her failure to heed the red light and yield appropriately. They also noted she was driving without a valid license.
According to U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino, it was a “blooper for the books!”
This blooper is one for the books!
A driver ran a red light in Slidell, LA and accidentally crashed into a vehicle used by Operation Catahoula Crunch. It turns out she was an illegal alien from Honduras.
Apparently she never learned the lesson that red means stop, not… pic.twitter.com/HoA7ytGR11

Apparently she never learned the lesson that red means stop, not “accelerate and collide with a government vehicle actively enforcing federal law.”
No injuries were reported, but she was certainly taken into custody.
Unlucky for her. Lucky for us.
Whoops. Talk about a mistake. I’m not even sure how many accidents have allegedly been caused by illegal aliens, but it’s a lot. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this crash. According to the local Slidell Police Department, the woman was at fault for disregarding the red light, as well as failure to yield. They also said she didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
I wonder if she had insurance. This is one situation that certainly didn’t end well for her. That’s one way to jump to the head of the list to be taken into custody for deportation.
Does this count as a self- deport? https://t.co/VKHnPEYg9s

There were a lot of people who will be joining her. As I mentioned above, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was conducting a big operation in the area, something a spokesperson confirmed.
“Sanctuary policies endanger American communities by releasing illegal criminal aliens and forcing DHS law enforcement to risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens that should have never been put back on the streets,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
