A tragic helicopter accident in Hammonton, New Jersey, resulted in one fatality and left another person critically injured when two helicopters collided and crash-landed on Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The Hammonton Police Department informed Fox News Digital that they started receiving reports of an aircraft collision at around 11:25 a.m. The incident involved two helicopters in the vicinity of the 100 block of Basin Road.
Emergency services, including police, fire, and EMS, rushed to the scene and managed to extinguish a fire that had engulfed one of the helicopters.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been alerted and are set to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash, stated the police.
