Richmond County investigates bone discovery by citizen

Augusta, Ga () – Around 2 p.m., deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 4700 block of Deans Bridge Road.

As stated by Public Information Officer Lt. Kelly, the call concerned a report from an individual who believed they had discovered a human bone.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office responded along with our Crime Scene Technicians.

The bones were collected by the Coroner’s Office and will be sent to the GBI Lab for testing.

At this time there can be no identification made.

This incident is still in its early stages, and no further information is available at this time.
