So long, 6-7, you didn’t quite make the list.
The year 2025 has been truly memorable, particularly if you’re chronicling it through the lens of social media, pop culture debates, and entertainment that transcends generations. The internet serves as a great unifier, bringing people together over shared interests (though it can divide just as effectively, but we’ll save that for another time).
Today, we’re keeping things upbeat as we revisit some of the standout memes born from the year’s most beloved shows and movies. These gems emerged across streaming platforms, various genres, and throughout the year’s release schedule. So even if you only binged one series back in January, you might find it featured here. For instance, did you catch The Traitors?
Let’s dive in without further ado. No matter which shows or films captured your attention this year, join us as we explore a selection of our favorite memes and comedic highlights from the television and movie landscape of 2025.

Tom Sandoval in The Traitors Season 3
If you tuned into Season 3 of The Traitors, you’d likely stumble upon Tom Sandoval delivering unforgettable moments. From his breakfast pit stains to his quip about women being superior cheaters, and his legendary doll performance that sparked countless Halloween costumes, Sandoval was a meme-generating machine. While the season offered many meme-worthy instances—such as Danielle Reyes’ anxious rocking after a dramatic elimination—none outshined Sandoval’s antics.

Jon Hamm Dancing in ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’
A late addition but one that deserves its spot. I feel like I was one of 10 people watching Your Friends & Neighbors as Season 1 aired on Apple TV+, so it’s nice to see people finally finding this show, even if it is just with a meme of Hamm feeling himself in the clurb. On Instagram and TikTok, the video of Hamm’s moves has become a trend for people to show off catching a vibe, even when the timing may be completely inappropriate.

Running Kid from Weapons
Photo: New Line Cinema Very few movies broke through this year and united us all into even a semblance of a monoculture, but if there’s a compelling argument for one, it’s Weapons. Even those who absolutely hate horror movies have seen the now-infamous running pose from the movie. Take it one step further, pretty much everyone has seen a meme using the still from the film, and for good reason. It’s so weird and child-like that it can only be properly appreciated in the form of a meme. Honorable mention to Aunt Gladys, you were iconic, but I’ll be doing this pose for years to come.

Mr. Milchick’s Marching Band in Severance Season 2
Sure, “devour feculence” could have made this list, but Tramell Tillman doing the absolute most as Mr. Milchick in the Severance Season 2 finale is top-tier. I’ll simply never forget seeing everyone make gifs of Milchick with the marching band and cracking jokes on social media about everything from drunken shenanigans to trying to distract parents from their problems during the 2008 recession. The creativity was boundless and still is.

“Instagram Live or TikTok Live?” from I Love LA
Photo: Warner Bros/HBO A moment from television so good you can’t Google it without bringing up a hotline offering help. I Love LA‘s inaugural season kicked off by giving us one of the most Gen Z moments/memes of the year, as Maia (Rachel Sennott) is trying to get an unwelcome guest out of her home by threatening to kill herself, but polling the group as to whether she should do it “on Instagram Live or TikTok live.” The moment itself has inspired a heavily used sound on TikTok with users taking any silly or mundane disturbance in their life and overreacting to it and using Sennott’s voice to do it.

Rick’s Shocked Face in The White Lotus Season 3
If “Piper, no” actually came from The White Lotus Season 3, Parker Posey’s face would be on here without a doubt. Honestly, Posey’s unforgettable line about not being equipped to live an uncomfortable life almost did make it, but at the end of the day, no meme came close to Walton Goggins as Rick, looking positively dumbfounded. Speechless is an understatement and it has become my go-to reaction for “I’m at a loss for words.” Goggins knows a thing or two about being a meme, and you can tell because he sells it (and owns it) well.

Huda’s “I’m a Mommy” Line from Love Island
Photo: Peacock Is there any more quotable meme from TV in 2025 than Huda Mustafa’s “I’m a mommy” moment with Nic Vansteenberghe in Love Island USA? As quickly as the sound blew up on Instagram and TikTok, the photos of their respective reactions made their way onto all the social platforms, as actors, athletes, and other notable figures jumped in with their own renditions. Add in the remixes, Etsy merch, and the full-fledged use of the sound on Dancing With the Stars, and you have the most talked-about and well-known meme of the year.
