A family from Christchurch, Dorset, found themselves in fits of laughter after stumbling upon a rather risqué carrot while preparing their Christmas dinner.
Julie Butler, 53, along with her father, Tony, 86, were busy chopping vegetables for their festive meal on Thursday, December 25th, when they noticed that one of the carrots bore an amusing resemblance to a certain male anatomy.
The duo had picked up a bag of carrots from Tesco for just 15p on Christmas Eve, but the cheeky shape of the vegetable had initially gone unnoticed.
Julie, who was preparing Lobster Thermidor for her father and mother, June, 82, shared, “Tesco had a sale on vegetables for 15p a bag on Christmas Eve. I was doing some last-minute shopping and didn’t spot the peculiar carrot until I began cooking.”
“I was doing last-minute shopping, but I didn’t notice it until I started cooking.
“On Christmas Day morning, me and dad were prepping the vegetables together.
“Dad first saw it, and he started laughing his head off.
“I thought that was so funny.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a carrot like that.”
The amused family chose not to cook the carrot – and instead displayed it on their mantlepiece alongside their Christmas cards.
Tony even put an orange on top to give it a “head.”
Julie joked that she initially considered selling the vegetable on eBay but decided against it.
She added: “It’s part of the family now.”
Julie, who is also from Christchurch and staying with her parents over the festive period, said her cooking went down a treat as they enjoyed a “lovely” dinner between their giggles.
