Attention: The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 66.

Cha Haein, a beloved character from the Solo Leveling universe, is poised to take center stage in the sequel series, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. In Chapter 66, the groundwork is laid for her to emerge as the main heroine. Currently, the storyline focuses on Suho, the son of Sung Jinwoo, as he explores an S-Rank Gate in Seoul. He’s joined by South Korea’s Guild Masters and the Scavenger’s Guild, led by Thomas Andre.

Upon entering the Gate, Suho’s aircraft unexpectedly crash-landed, leaving him isolated from his team. While navigating the dungeon alone, he encounters Sarca, a young Ice Elf with significant ties to the arc’s main antagonists and a unique connection to Suho’s mother, Cha Haein. All indications suggest that Cha Haein is set to step into the spotlight, potentially overshadowing both Jinwoo and Suho as the hero of this arc in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.

Unfortunately, the moment the Hunters entered the Gate, Suho’s aircraft crash-landed, separating him from his allies. As he journied alone through the dungeon, he encountered a young Ice Elf named Sarca, who has both a special connection to the main villains of this arc, and a special connection to Suho’s mother, Cha Haein. All the signs are pointing to Cha Haein becoming the hero that saves the day in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok‘s current arc, outshining both Jinwoo and Suho for her time in the sun.

Cha Haein’s Return in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Makes Her The Ice Elves’ Savior

In Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 65, Sarca tells Sung Suho that a person named “Cha Cha” came down from the heavens and rescued her tribe of Ice Elf children. Of course, “Cha Cha” is none other than Cha Haein herself, but Sung Suho still has no idea about that. Based on Sarca’s rather poor description of Cha Cha, Suho actually imagines she’s something like a monstrous chimera, rather than a human being. Nevertheless, whether Suho knows it or not, Cha Haein is now confirmed to be nearby in the land of the Snowfolk.

At the end of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 66, Sarca is on her way back to her Ice Elf camp when she is suddenly attacked and captured by the successors of the Plague and Transfiguration Monarchs. With Suho having gone his separate ways in order to find the boss of the dungeon, there’s really only one person left to arrive to save Sarca: Cha Haein.

Haein will probably be the one to jump in and rescue Sarca from the Monarchs’ successors in the upcoming Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 67. After learning from Sarca that there are other human Hunters in the land of the Snowfolk, it’s likely Haein will seek them out, which will finally cause her to reunite with Suho. But that won’t even be her most heroic act in this arc. If the manhwa’s version of the S-Rank Raid Arc even follows the light novel’s story to a minor degree, Haein is set to have her first true main character moment.

In the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok light novel, Cha Haein emerges as the true hero of the S-Rank Raid. When the combined might of Thomas Andre and Sung Suho isn’t enough to defeat the Apostle of Itarim, Cha Haein slays the villain singlehandedly using the Demon King’s Longsword given to her by Jinwoo.

In Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Cha Haein is significantly more powerful than she was in the original light novel or manhwa. Due to the fact that she carried Suho in her womb for nine months, Haein’s body evolved to become strong enough to be a vessel for a Ruler or Monarch. After all, Suho is a Monarch, and Haein was technically his “vessel” for nine full months. After adapting to holding that much mana in her body, Haein is now at the level of a National Level Hunter in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, comparable to someone like Thomas Andre or Liu Zhigang.

If the manhwa follows the light novel’s storyline, not only will Cha Haein likely save Sarca from the Monarch successors, she’ll also emerge as the true hero who defeats the S-Rank Raid Arc’s final boss. The manhwa’s version of this arc has already diverged from the light novel’s storyline considerably, and there’s no reason to think it won’t do so further. At the same time, the manhwa still retains many of the core story beats, including the fact that Cha Haein was trapped in the land of the Snowfolk to begin with.

Cha Haein has always been a heroic figure from the moment she first recovered a woman’s stolen purse from thieves in an anime-only scene in Solo Leveling Episode 1, so she has always had the capacity to be the hero inside her. Sung Suho will definitely remain the main protagonist of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok long after the S-Rank Raid Arc is over, but at least for this one arc, for this one fight, Cha Haein will be the hero that everyone relies on.

New chapters of the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok manhwa come out every Wednesday in Korean on KakaoPage. Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 67 is scheduled for release on Wednesday, December 31st. The official English translation of the series is available to read on Tappytoon and the Tapas app.
