In the aftermath of her split from Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene took a fiery stance against a segment of the MAGA community. Once a close ally of the former president, Greene discussed her estrangement from Trump in a detailed interview with The New York Times. During the conversation, she criticized the prevalent trend among some Trump supporters, particularly those at Mar-a-Lago, of undergoing various cosmetic enhancements like lip fillers and facelifts. “I’ve never been a fan of the MAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualization. The way women leaders present themselves sends a powerful message to young women,” Greene remarked on December 29, choosing not to name specific individuals. She expressed discomfort with the exaggerated cosmetic procedures, sharing that as a mother of two daughters, she had long wanted to address this issue. Her comments, however, sparked an unexpected online reaction.

Excerpts from the interview were shared on X, where Greene faced backlash for her perceived hypocrisy. Many users were quick to highlight past rumors of her infidelity, questioning her moral authority. “She won’t get filler but has no issue cheating on her husband with her trainer. Spare me the morality, Marge,” one user commented. Another criticized, “Yet she cheated on her children’s father. Spare me,” as noted by another user.
Despite her questionable approach in critiquing cosmetic procedures, Greene herself seemed to have distanced from such enhancements.
Indeed, Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to renounce the Mar-a-Lago aesthetic. Just a month prior to her critique of Trump supporters’ cosmetic choices, she attended the Epstein Files Transparency Act news conference in Washington, D.C. Sporting dyed blonde hair and a tanned complexion, Greene looked relatively natural, opting for minimal makeup. While she wore some eyeliner and lip gloss, her appearance suggested a move away from fillers and injections.
However, the criticisms about her personal life, specifically alleged affairs during her marriage, were not baseless. In February 2021, the Daily Mail reported that Greene had an affair with Craig Ivey, described as a “polyamorous tantric sex guru.” When asked, Ivey refrained from commenting on the matter, neither confirming nor denying the allegations. The publication also linked Greene to a gym manager, Justin Tway, who was similarly evasive but less courteous, stating, “I have no interest in talking about anything to do with that woman. Everything with her comes to no good.” Greene denied the allegations when approached by the Mail, although her now-ex-husband, Perry Greene, filed for divorce in September of that year.

To her credit, Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to give up the Mar-a-Lago face look. A month before she blasted those in Trumpland for overdoing it with injections and surgeries, she appeared at the Epstein Files Transparency Act news conference in Washington, D.C. While she still sported dyed blond hair and was clearly all for using bronzer, MTG looked mostly natural with a light amount of makeup on her face. There was some eyeliner and lip gloss, but her looks did not seem to be altered by injections or fillers.
Even though it seems that she has abandoned the Mar-a-Lago aesthetic, the points that X users made about Marjorie’s alleged affairs while married were not unfounded. In February 2021, the Daily Mail reported that the politician had cheated on her husband with Craig Ivey, a man it described as a “polyamorous tantric sex guru.” The outlet asked Ivey about the purported fling. “I will not respond to anything about this,” he said, while not fully denying the allegations. The Mail also claimed that Marjorie had intimate relations with a gym manager named Justin Tway. Tway was equally as vague, but less diplomatic when asked by the publication about his relationship with Marjorie. “I have no interest in talking about anything to do with that woman. Everything with her comes to no good,” he said. Marjorie denied the Mail’s reporting when it contacted her. The following September, her now-ex-husband, Perry Greene, filed for divorce.
