Entrepreneur and influencer Sophia Momodu has delivered a firm message to fans and content creators who persist in associating her with her ex-partner, Afrobeats sensation Davido, by calling her his wife.
In a recent video, the mother of Davido’s first child, Imade, shared her discomfort with the title, emphasizing that her relationship with the artist ended several years ago.
Sophia recounted an encounter with a content creator who greeted her using Davido’s nickname, an action she considered disrespectful to their current realities.
“I once met a content creator who started calling me ‘mama Imade, OBO [Davido’s] wife’ when they saw me. I was taken aback because I am not his wife.”
Emphasizing that Davido is now married to his longtime partner, Chioma, Sophia urged the public to respect marital boundaries and personal choices. She insisted that she has found peace in moving forward and wants the public to do the same.
“Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do.”
