BULLS GAP, Tenn. (WJHL) — A collision involving a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office vehicle occurred Monday evening in Bulls Gap, as reported by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). The incident took place when the law enforcement unit allegedly veered across the center line of Highway 11E, colliding with a car poised to make a turn.

According to a crash report obtained by News Channel 11 on Wednesday, the accident happened on December 29 at around 5:21 p.m. It was located at the intersection of Highway 11E, also known as Andrew Johnson Highway, and N Main Street in Bulls Gap.

The report details that the involved Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, a white Dodge Challenger referred to as “vehicle 1,” was heading south on Andrew Johnson Highway.

“Vehicle two was stationary on Highway 11E, waiting to make a right turn,” the report indicates. “Vehicle one crossed the center line and struck vehicle two.”

The impact of the crash forced the second vehicle, a Chevy Silverado, into a third vehicle, a Kia Sportage, which was also stationary at the time, according to the report.

The THP said no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt, the report said.

No charges were filed, according to the report.
