As we usher in the first weekend of 2026, it’s a momentous occasion for Netflix as it bids farewell to its iconic series, Stranger Things, with its final episode making a splash on streaming charts.

However, Netflix isn’t solely relying on the fanfare of the Stranger Things finale to captivate audiences this weekend. In a strategic move, a duo of AMC+ series is also stepping into the limelight, garnering attention and excitement.

The Watch With Us team has thoughtfully curated a list of must-watch Netflix programs for this weekend, featuring these standout AMC+ series. Among our top recommendations are the eagerly anticipated second season of a Walking Dead spinoff, a gripping miniseries by the talented Harlan Coben, and an often overlooked drama that deserves your attention.

It’s intriguing to note that as December draws to a close, some of the most notable additions to Netflix’s lineup are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. With industry whispers suggesting that Netflix might acquire Warner Bros. by this time next year, the possibility of HBO Max shows, like Love & Death, making their way to Netflix becomes an exciting prospect. Such a development would undoubtedly broaden the streaming giant’s already vast array of content.

It’s fitting that the most prominent additions to Netflix‘s shows at the end of December are both owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. By this time next year, Netflix could wind up owning the entire Warner Bros. empire. And then it wouldn’t be unusual to see HBO Max shows like Love & Death cross over. Thank […]

‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ (2023 – Present)

The Walking Dead: Dead City is a spinoff from the primary show centered on Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and the man who murdered her husband, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). In the first season, Maggie was forced to turn to Negan when her son, Hershel Rhee (Logan Kim), was kidnapped and taken to the remains of New York City.

Season 2 takes place one year later, as Maggie and Negan find themselves on opposing sides as a wider conflict between the survivors is about to break out. Maggie hasn’t given up on the idea of avenging her late husband, but she may have bigger problems than Negan. A few of the people that Maggie trusts the most may prove to be more loyal to someone else.

‘Harlan Coben’s Run Away’ (2026)

James Nesbitt and Minnie Driver star in Netflix’s adaptation of Harlan Coben’s Run Away as a pair of concerned parents, Simon and Ingrid Greene. Their youngest daughter, Anya (Ellie Henry), is safe, but their oldest child, Paige (Ellie De Lange), has lost herself to addiction under the influence of her boyfriend, Aaron Corval (Thomas Flynn).

Best-selling author Harlan Coben has provided ample material for Netflix’s original series library. The crime and thriller novelist has written 35 novels, with 12 having been adapted for film and television. Currently, Coben has a deal with Netflix to pump out these heaters for years to come. With his latest adaptation, Harlan Coben’s Lazarus, already […]

Simon’s attempt to reunite with Paige goes very badly, especially when he finds himself one of the prime suspects in a murder. Now, Paige has gone missing, and Aaron may get locked up unless he and Ingrid can clear his name and locate his daughter. Unfortunately for them, Paige may not want to be found.

‘The Red Road’ (2014 – 2015)

Game of Thrones fans may have missed Jason Momoa in The Red Road, which was his first series after leaving the hit HBO show. The Red Road ran for two seasons on SundanceTV and features Momoa as Phillip Kopus, a member of the Ramapough Lenape Nation of Native Americans who is newly released from prison. And Kopus doesn’t waste any time setting up a potentially lucrative illegal prescription drug operation.

This inevitably puts Kopus in conflict with an old rival, police officer Harold Jensen (Martin Henderson), and his wife, Jean Jensen (Julianne Nicholson). The Jensens’ daughter, Rachel (Allie Gonino), is also complicating matters by dating Kopus’ half-brother, Junior Van Der Veen (Kiowa Gordon). It’s a messy situation that’s about to get even worse as Harold is put into a compromising situation to protect his wife from the consequences of her actions.
