PHILADELPHIA (WPHL/NEXSTAR) – The lineups for Team USA’s Olympic Men’s, Women’s, and Sled Hockey squads have been officially revealed for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, set for February.
The men’s team roster was shared on Friday during the “Today” show broadcast. The lineup primarily consists of players who competed in the NHL-managed international event in February, where the U.S. team reached the finals only to be defeated by Canada in overtime. Missing from the returning group are forward Chris Kreider and Adam Fox, the former New York Rangers player who clinched the 2021 Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman.
Bill Guerin, who serves as the general manager for the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team and is also the president of hockey operations for the Minnesota Wild, expressed enthusiasm about the selections. “We’re thrilled with our team and extend congratulations to everyone named today,” he stated. “Arriving at the final roster was a challenging task for our management team, a testament to the strength of hockey at all levels in our country. The Olympics are unparalleled, and I trust our players and staff will proudly represent the U.S. and strive towards our ultimate goal.”
Notably absent are Jason Robertson from the Dallas Stars, who currently leads U.S. players in points this season, as well as top-tier scorers Cole Caufield and Alex DeBrincat.
