The newest season of Sister Wives has been nothing short of dramatic. Lately, the TLC reality series has captured Kody Brown on what can only be described as an “apology tour,” approaching his former wives to seek their forgiveness for his past actions.

The biggest bombshell, however, was dropped by his ex-wife, Christine. During a candid discussion with her new spouse, Christine startlingly revealed that she and her former husband are actually related by blood.

Since parting ways with Kody in 2021, Christine has found happiness with a new partner, David Woolley. In the latest episode, Christine shared with David details about her previous marriage to Kody, disclosing that they share familial ties:

Since leaving Kody in 2021, Christine has gone on to find love with a new man named David Woolley. In the most recent episode of the show, Christine spoke to David about her relationship with Kody, noting that she and her former husband are actually relatives:

Christine made a joke that she and Kody were so distantly related that no one around them saw it as an issue. She also shared that the religious community she grew up in was so small that she knew the odds that she would marry a distant relative were quite high.

For his part, David appeared floored to hear this about his wife. “Wow,” was all he managed to say about the subject.

Janelle Agreed The Situation Was Normal

In the same episode, another one of Kody’s exes, Janelle, added her two cents. She didn’t seem fazed to learn this about Christine, as she also felt like marrying distant relatives was commonplace within their religious community.

She explained to the cameras that married couples weren’t usually “family” in how the average person thought of the term:

In an even stranger twist, Janelle even revealed that her mother had at one point been married to Kody’s dad. Janelle herself officially separated from Kody at the end of 2022.
