SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Following a warm and rainy Saturday, the latter part of the weekend promises a shift towards drier and cooler conditions.

Saturday saw widespread showers and storms, delivering measurable rainfall to most areas. Particularly, regions along and north of I-16 recorded over half an inch of rainfall. Fortunately, the anticipated severe weather did not materialize in our vicinity.

As we move into the overnight hours and approach Sunday morning, expect the cloud cover to dissipate. With a northerly breeze ushering in cooler air behind the passing cold front, temperatures are set to dip into the lower to mid-40s.

Sunday morning could bring areas of patchy dense fog, significantly reducing visibility to less than half a mile in some spots, and potentially close to zero in others. It’s advisable to exercise caution if you’re traveling early.

By Sunday afternoon, the skies will clear to partly sunny, with temperatures topping out in the upper 50s to lower 60s, offering a cooler but pleasant day.

The cooldown for Sunday will not last too long as spring-like temperatures will return by the middle of the new week.

Monday will start out again with low temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s. However, temperatures will top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s for afternoon highs.

Conditions look to be even warmer Tuesday through the weekend. Highs will warm into the upper 70s. Some locations late in the week may get very close to 80°F for afternoon high temperatures.

The warmer temperatures are expected due to a southerly breeze ahead of the next storm system that is forecast to move into the southeast by Saturday. A few showers or isolated storms are possible on Saturday.
